Introduce our products

Premium sponge laminated fabric (1.5 mm – 15.0 mm) combining flexible polyurethane (PU) foam with knitted mesh, velvet, or jersey textiles. High peeling strength, flame/adhesive lamination, REACH compliant. Free samples!

Sponge laminated fabric (commonly known as foam-laminated textile or open-cell polyurethane foam sandwich composite) is a multi-layer cushioning textile engineered by bonding a flexible polyurethane (PU) sponge core to one or both sides of a face fabric. Designed to provide localized padding, sound absorption, thermal insulation, and soft tactile feel, this material is widely utilized across footwear linings, automotive interiors, medical braces, protective gear, and upholstery. Solamni manufactures sponge laminated fabrics using eco-friendly flame lamination or solvent-free hot-melt adhesive processes, offering rolls in standard widths (1.40 m – 1.60 m) and custom overall foam-plus-fabric thickness profiles (1.5 mm – 15.0 mm).

Lamination Technologies & Manufacturing Workflow

Achieving high peel strength without ruining the soft hand-feel requires specialized roll-to-roll bonding techniques:

Manufacturing Process Flow:

  • Fabric Face & PU Foam Feed
  • Flame Surface Melting / Hot‑Melt Adhesive Dispensing
  • Calendering Compression Nip
  • Cooling & Elastic Tension Setting
  • OEKO‑TEX & Peel Strength QC
  • Finished Bonded Composite Roll
  • Flame Lamination: A precision gas flame briefly melts the outer micron layer of the polyurethane foam into a tacky polymer binder before pressing it against the fabric under heated rollers, achieving a high bond without adding extra adhesive weight.
  • Hot‑Melt Adhesive Lamination: Eco‑friendly reactive polyurethane (PUR) hot‑melt adhesive is applied via slot‑die or gravure rollers, ideal for heat‑sensitive technical textiles or medical‑grade composites.

FAQ

1 16

Q1: What is the advantage of flame lamination versus hot-melt glue lamination?

A1: Flame lamination melts the foam itself to create the bond, preserving maximum softness, breathability, and flexibility without adding stiff glue layers. Hot‑melt glue lamination is preferred for heat‑sensitive synthetic fabrics or waterproof membrane composites where open flames could damage the face textile.

Q2: Can the foam density and fabric faces be customized?

A2: Yes. We offer single‑sided (2‑ply) or double‑sided (3‑ply) laminations combining BK mesh, jersey, velvet, suede, or nonwoven fabrics with custom foam densities (18 – 45 kg/m³).

Q3: What is the lead time for standard stock, custom colors, and sample rolls?

A3: We maintain active warehouse stock in standard black, white, grey, and navy mesh‑sponge composites (2.0 mm, 3.0 mm, 5.0 mm) for immediate shipment within 48 hours. Custom color dyeing, specialized foam formulation, or roll conversions carry an MOQ of 1,000 meters, with sample packs shipped in 3 to 5 business days. Technical specialist Jason Lee provides direct engineering assistance within 12 hours.
